Over the last 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in ministry-from children’s and youth ministry to training pastors and leaders. One thing I consistently see is that many Christians genuinely want to please God; they simply aren’t sure how to live out what the Bible says in everyday life
The Christian life isn’t just about gaining knowledge. It’s about who we’re becoming
That’s why I believe mentorship and training go hand in hand as we learn the Word and walk the Way – working out our faith in the real, sometimes messy reality of life. Thankfully, God has given us Holy Spirit to guide us as we grow. My goal is to live out 2 Corinthians 5:15 – to live for the One who died for me and helping others do the same. Life can be hard, and faith can sometimes feel complicated. But relationship with God is simple:
- Know Him.
- Love Him.
- Follow Him.
- Let Him live through you.
When we do, the pressure is off, and He can love people well through us. For me, there’s nothing more fulfilling than investing in people as they discover who God has created them to be and learn to walk in what He has given them.
Wade
For decades, my focus was on aviation and the building trades, where I trained others to master complex skills. I quickly learned that the best way to help someone succeed isn't by overwhelming them—it’s by making things simple, practical, and concise. In recent years, I’ve brought that same heart to mentoring individuals, leading small groups, and supporting pastors.
What I’ve discovered is that in Christianity, it’s not about keeping rules or learning information. Genuine growth happens when we cut through the noise and focus on the simplicity of our faith. My passion is helping believers discover and develop a deep, authentic relationship with God and share His love with the world as they walk out everyday life.
Why We Exist
Our Realization
As followers of Jesus and in examining His life in the Bible, we realized our daily lives lacked the depth and fulfillment that He promised. We simply knew there was more.
The Shift
As we began to actively live out what we saw in the Word, things shifted and we saw God transform lives; not just ours, but those we connected with.
Our Response
God moved us to create a space to bridge the gap between acquiring knowledge and understanding, applying, and living out what we see in the Word – so that Tuesday morning reflects what we see in the Bible.
The Result
That is what Advancing Believers is: A space and community discovering each facet of our identity in Christ shown in the Word of God and actively loving our communities every day, as we were created to live and as Jesus demonstrated for us.
